We are excited to announce Kendall’s Kilometers, a 5k race and 1-mile walk that will honor the life of Kendall LeeAnn Bayne. The race will be held on May 7, 2016, at the River’s Edge Sports Complex in Roanoke, Virginia. Lace up your sneakers and come out to support a great cause.
Kendall’s Kilometers 5k Race
Kendall’s Kilometers is a 5k race and 1-mile walk to honor Kendall Bayne. On October 29, 2015, Kendall passed away after a courageous, years-long battle with adrenal cortical carcinoma. She was 19 years old. Kendall’s grace, spirit and courage have inspired many. This race will be the first in a series of events intended to honor her life and raise funds for some worthy causes.
Funds raised from this and other events hosted by the foundation will support the Kendall Bayne College Scholarship, TGen, and First Descents (an adventure program for young adults diagnosed with cancer).
The Kendall’s Kilometers 5k race will take place on May 7 in Roanoke, VA. Here are the details:
When: Saturday, May 7, 2016 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM (EDT)
Where: River’s Edge Sports Complex – 302 Wiley Drive SW, Roanoke, VA
Fees: Registration is $25 for the 5k and 1-mile walk, and $5 for “Sprint With Spot”
T-shirts: Register by April 15, 2016 to guarantee a race shirt!
Other notes:
- The race begins on Wiley Drive in Roanoke, VA and ends at Smith Park. Parking is located at River’s Edge.
- This is a rain-or-shine event. There are no refunds for this event.
- Packet pick-up begins on May 4 at Fleet Feet Sports, 4347 Franklin Rd, Roanoke, VA 24018.
